Port Harcourt - Gunmen suspected to be political thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday fired several shots at the convoy of Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, reports Premium Times.
The thugs shot at the governor in Rumuolumeni, Obio Akpor, area of Port Harcourt.
Two people were reportedly injured in the attack, which happened around 6p.m.
Obio Akpor is the home of the PDP governorship candidate, Nyesom Wike.
The governor was in the town to campaign for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
