Kaduna - The Police Command in Kaduna State on Wednesday confirmed the death of four persons in an attack at Yangal village in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

The command's spokesman, DSP Zubiaru Abubakar, said that 12 other persons were injured in the incident.
Abubakar said they were already receiving treatment at the St Louis Hospital, Zonkwa.

He said no arrest had been made so far, but added the command had deployed more security to the area, while investigation had begun.

Meanwhile, Governor Mukhtar Yero has condemned the attack, which he blamed on 'miscreants' with intent to cause confusion and heighten tension in the state.

Yero, in a statement by his media aide, Ahmed Maiyaki, described the attack as sad.
The governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency to immediately move to the affected community to provide support for the villagers.

He called on people of the affected community to remain calm; assuring that the perpetrators would be apprehended and prosecuted.

Yero condoled with the families of those who died in the attack and promised that the state government would pay the medical bills of the injured.
