Abuja - The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress
(APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed condolences and support to
victims, including soldiers, of the latest insurgent attacks in Borno.
This
is contained in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Monday by
Malam Garba Shehu, Director, Media and Publicity APC Presidential
Campaign Organisation.
Buhari, however, assured that the prevailing precarious situation in the North-East would not last forever.
"I
commiserate with the latest victims of this despicable orgy of violence
in Borno; I equally implore them to bear in mind that this situation
won't last forever,’’ he said.
He expressed shock at what he
described as "mindless attacks’’ by Boko Haram on Maiduguri, Konduga and
Monguno in Borno with more than 40 000 more refugees reportedly joining
the ranks of the internally displaced persons.
