Asaba - Venerable Felix Okonkwo, a cleric of the Anglican Communion
in Delta State, on Sunday got a N10 million donation for his church
after calling the All Progressives Congress (APC) an Islamic party,
reports NewsDay.
Okonkwo,
who is the Vicar-in-Charge of St. Phillips Anglican Church, Asaba,
described the APC as a party formed to promote and propagate the ideas
of Islamism.
Okonkwo, who sated this during a special
thanksgiving service in honour of Ifeanyi Okowa, the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP)governorship candidate in the state, noted that the APC was
out to kill people and destroy Nigeria.
The cleric urged the
congregation, which included Delta State governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, to
be watchful so that the APC won’t be successful in its attempt to set
Islamic programs on Nigerians.
After
delivering his sermon, Okonkwo then pleaded with the governor to assist
the church in implementing some of its developmental projects.
The governor in turn donated N10 million towards the completion of a building project within the church grounds.
