Lagos - Four houses, five plazas and a Diamond Bank building were
consumed by an early morning fire at the Balogun market on Lagos Island
in Lagos State.
The cause of the fire could not be immediately
ascertained but huge smoke was seen billowing from the building located
on Breadfruit street.
The National Emergency Management Agency
(NEMA) said the fire started at about 4.36am from an unknown source and
has been raging despite efforts by the Fire service to put it under
control.
