APC addresses in-house squabbling in Imo State

Lagos - The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has charged members of the party in the Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area in Imo State to remain united and as well shun any act capable of bringing the image of the party to ridicule.

The call by Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu, came in the wake of alleged infighting in the region.

“The only thing necessary for any devout APC member to do after the general election was to thank God for making the Governorship candidate of the party, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to emerge victorious in the poll, instead of throwing themselves into factional groups which he said, was capable of disintegrating the peaceful co-existence of the party,” Ejiogu’s spokesperson, Ikenna Onuoha, said in Owerri, the state capital.

Onuoha said Ejiogu, while assuring the APC members of government’s sincere commitment in carrying everyone along, further enjoined them to remain peaceful as “no person would be thrown away from the party”, after contributing heavily for the success of the party in the just concluded election.

“He advised them to emulate the Governor of the State, Owelle Okorocha whom he said, tolerates his political rivals, even after seeing that they were meant to pull him down, describing it as one of the qualities of a good leader.”
