Wellington - Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba is putting his team
in the right state of mind ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup Round of 16
fixture against Germany on Thursday.
Germany are not only the
joint second-best defence in the competition behind Ukraine, having only
conceded once, but they are the runaway leading scorers, with an
impressive 16 goals from three games.
Garba, who led Nigeria’s U17 team to win the World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in 2013, is confident of his wards.
"If we want to be champions, we have to be ready to take on any team. We have the tools to match them."
Goalkeeper
Joshua Enaholo, who was miserable in the 4-2 loss to Brazil, but now
improved, agreed with Garba that they are ready for Germany.
"They're a good team, but we'll be ready," Enaholo told FIFA.
