Abuja - The Presidency has dismissed rumour of its alleged
plan to sack the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, reports Vanguard.
It described the rumoured sack as an outright falsehood and mischievous propaganda, allegedly engineered by some forces within the main opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC).
A top official in the presidency stated that the rumoured sack of Jega is part of the propaganda by the opposition to soil the good name of the President and discredit the government.
He warned those peddling the rumour to desist from the act and allow Jega to do his work and stop heating up the polity.
