Group draws Obama’s attention to human rights abuses in Nigeria

A group under the aegis of People for the Defence of Human Rights
in Nigeria (PDHRN) has called on President Barack Obama and other world
leaders to reverse what they describe as human rights violation of the Nigeria government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The group cited recent detention of some persons perceived to be
opposed to the APC government in the guise of anti-corruption crusade.
The development, the group said, should be a source of worry to all
lovers of democracy in Nigeria, while calling on the international
communities to save Nigeria’s democracy from total collapse.
In a letter signed by the group coordinator, Prince Shield
Nnwanzurahu and made available to The AUTHORITY in Abuja, the group
accused President Muhammad Buhari’s administration of clear cases of
selective persecution, and violation of citizens’ rights.
