Suspected Terrorists Attack Five Villages In Adamawa, Kill 15

It has been a deadly attack in Adamawa State as suspected Boko Haram militants raided five villages in Girei Local Government of Adamawa State, leaving about 15 people dead.

This attack came just as the President Muhammadu Buhari had said that the war on Boko Haram has been significantly won and gave assurances that everything possible would be done to keep the terrorists away from reclaimed villages.

There had been earlier reports that suspected herdsmen carried out the attack but eyewitnesses told Channels Television that about 300 suspected terrorists carried out the attack.

Security operatives have since been sent to the area.

A community leader in the area, Mr Phineas Elsha, told Channels Television during a phone interview that leaders of the community, who were acting on information, had told security operatives that the attack was in the offing before the attackers struck.

My Name Is Ayo Fayose; Buhari Will Not Do Well – Fayose

My Name Is Ayo Fayose; Buhari Will Not Do Well – Fayose

Buhari Fayose

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has once again attacked President Muhammadu Buhari and has wished him to fail in his governance of the country.
In an interview with Premium Times, Fayose said he is a factor to be reckoned with in Nigerian politics and declared that anyone that ignores him does so at his own peril.

He further highlighted how he defeated his opponents during the election period declaring that he is the first Nigerian governor to defeat two incumbent governors at two different attempts, landslide.

“I did not only defeat them, I defeated them in their homes, in their wives’ bedrooms, in their sitting room, everywhere. They were badly defeated. They have all the forces, they have all the money, and they have the contacts, he said”.

“My name is Ayo Fayose. He will not do well. The attitude of a man can only be corrected when you are still young. The older you get, you will continue to exhibit your traits. That is why I told you Buhari is a dictator; he can never lead a people or a government without being dictatorial.”

“You see, the power of Buhari is not more than to kill somebody. He can send soldiers to you to come and kill you but people will know that the killing is not normal. It must be a high-wired killing. I am not afraid of him. The power of Buhari is not more than you go and lock somebody up. I am not afraid of him. I am not in the calibre of politicians who are saying, ‘ah don’t let me die o! Don’t let my mother die o,! You don’t take the inheritance of your father if you are not sure you are ready to take it. I am not in that category. Most noble men today have gone underground for fear of the unknown. And in times like this, when you train a lion, when you keep a lion in your family house, those of you promoting that lion will end up in his stomach one day.”

“The same thing we were telling Obasanjo that time. We said Obasanjo was a dictator. Obasanjo consumed most of them who were promoting him that time. I have never minced words, before the campaign…I am not a sycophant to say that it was after Buhari became president that I started praising or talking against him.. I started from day one.”

“I was 24 years old when Buhari was head of state of Nigeria. We were daily being beaten in Ibadan when we queued up for essential commodities. I remembered how he stopped import duties and did a lot of things damaging to the economy, the same way he is still doing it today. God raised Joseph at a given time. God raised Moses to warn Pharaoh of the consequences of his leadership, until he perished. I have said it clearly that any attempt to confront me and attack my government will bring Buhari’s government down.”

“My name is Ayo Fayose, I mean every word I am saying. As powerful as God has made the snail, he warned the snail to beware of salt. God gave the snail a protected shield behind him and told him to crawl all over the world, but warned him to be mindful of salt. I am salt. He should be mindful of me.”

“It doesn’t matter his might, we have seen presidents before. We were here when Obasanjo was here. We were here when other presidents came and we will still be here when he will leave. I am not a coward. Call me controversial if you like. Men that will make history will be very controversial. Courageous people will be controversial. The bible makes it very clear that the righteous will be as bold as a lion.”

The latest called was made by the coordinator of UIC, Sunday Ogbe, in a statement saying that it was time for Senator Mark to step aside, after serving the Idoma people for 16-year.

The group listed some of the projects, which included the construction of Oweto road, a dam in Otukpo and the University of Medical Sciences that was poorly executed as some of the reasons why they no longer want the senator as their leader.
Ogbe said: “Should this be a credit or a discredit since these projects are either nonexistent or levels of completion are still below 30 per cent?
“Why has Mark chosen to return to the Senate as a floor member, having served as the number three man in the nation for eight years.
“Mark’s 16 years in the Senate is a complete disaster. His achievements were only seen on the pages of newspapers and blogs.
“As the number three man in the nation for eight years, his kinsmen back home had no portable water.”
He further stated that the major roads leading to Mark’s constituency are in bad shape and those that the federal government sponsored was not executed by his referred contractors.
just a month ago asked
The UIC’s statement read in part: “It is sad, yet shameful, that Mark is asking for votes from Idoma people he betrayed. He has been using the creation of Apa State as a gimmick to hoodwink our people.
“He promised to use the last drop of his blood to create Apa State; now the story has changed.”

The latest Rivers PDP heavyweights who have recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) include three front line gubernatorial aspirants of PDP, Chief (Captain) Sunday Nwankwo, Chief Bekinbo Soberekon and Engr. Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack, who were allegedly rigged out by Wike during the PDP primaries.

Others include Dr. Diamond Tobin-West, Dr. Basoba Anga, Chief Tubonimi Wokoma, Hon. Daye Ojuka and Hon. Ibroma Kirchner.

APC kick-started the formal burial of PDP in Rivers State with the defection of Chief (Captain) Nwankwo, the Etche-born, Port Harcourt-based billionaire and former National Presidential Committee Member of PDP.

I hereby promise to channel same resources to the victory of APC and all its candidates. I, therefore, urge all my supporters in the 23 LGAs of the state to cross over to APC and ensure the success of the party in all the re-run elections in the state.”

Receiving the decampees, Rivers APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, reminded Etche people of the numerous roads he constructed in Etche LGA when he served as Commissioner for Works and promised to do more when he is sworn in as Governor of the State after the re-run elections.

“As if the two events at Etche and Buguma were not enough damage to the burial of PDP, Akuku-Toru the home Local Government Area of Hon Dr Tammy Dagogo the immediate past Minister of Sports and Wike’s strong man formally hammered the nails on the coffin of the dying PDP in Rivers State with a carnival of praise and worship at Briggs Compound, New York City-Abonnema; the APC State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya and APC Deputy Governorship candidate in the state, Asita Honourable Asita received Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack, governorship aspirant of the PDP who led former Lawmaker, Hon. Ibroma Kirchner and hundreds of high profile defectors from PDP,” APC said in a statement.

In the statement Rivers APC in Port Harcourt warmly welcomed the latest members of the party, congratulating them for taking the right decision at the right time.

The statement condemned Wike’s alleged threat to PDP stakeholders in reaction to the gale of defections to APC.

Wike, according to reports, summoned PDP stakeholders, threatening to go down with all who may have benefited from his administration should he fail in the re-run election.

He was reportedly to said: “I am worried over the incessant defections of many of my aides to APC in the state. Everybody is running away to APC and they expect me to stay calm and suffer the brunt alone.
It will never happen. We were in it together and we must suffer together. If they say I stole money in the Ministry of Education, I didn’t eat it alone. All of you took part. Some of you built the Almajiri schools.”
