The spiritual leader/founder, God ordained prophetic ministry,
Prophet Akpofure Imole Ayo has charged leaders in the country on the
need to seek God’s mercy in the land even as the Nigerians get ready for
another phase of a general election, 2015.
In a revelation
delivered at his ‘Solution Center’ in Benin city, yesterday, the cleric
instructed that: “the lord said I should tell the president of Nigeria,
Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, state governors, council chairmen and their
councilors including those in leadership authority in the land to kneel
down on sand to ask for mercy and peace and to pray for the blessing of
the country.”
He
added: “the lord said I should go to each state of the country with 41
people and a bottle of oil, salt and water and pray to destroy the works
of darkness; persons against Nigeria and that when the mission is
fulfilled, thereafter, my ministry will have an all night with
Nigerians”, the prophet revealed.
According to Imole Ayo, should
this be neglect, a brazenly calamity as never experience in recent times
will befall the country before the dawn of the February general
elections.

INEC extends collection of PVCs to February 8
The presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections would hold simultaneously throughout the country on February 14 while the governorship and state House of Assembly election would hold on February 28.
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC for Cross River State, Dr. Okey Ezeani, made the disclosure on Thursday while interacting with members of the Inter Agency Advisory Committee on Voter Education (SICVEP).
Ezeani said with the introduction of the PVC for the conduct of the 2015 general elections, Nigeria would own the elections and determine its outcomes.
Ezeani said the 2015 election would be free and fair and devoid of violence as the INEC intends to conduct very peaceful election.
Ezeani said: “People must be counselled on this. Lots of measures are in place, including use of PVC to empower the electorate to cast their votes on election day. Accreditation now goes with the card reader.
“This election will be adjudged free, fair and violent-free. We must respect one another because we always cross parts no matter our positions; try to avoid what is not right and continue on the path of good.’’
The REC said the INEC would ensure that it respects Nigeria’s constitution and the Electoral Act in staging the elections.
He advised that those who have not collected their PVCs should endeavour to collect them instead of complaining where there is no need for such.
The REC warned that during the elections, any person who is not mandated by law to be at the polling units will be arrested and prosecuted as demanded by the Electoral Act.
He disclosed that “Super Rags” would be erected by the INEC for relevant electoral officials and security agents close to their registration polling units so as to avoid delays during elections.
Ezeani disclosed that for each of the elections, coded coloured ballot boxes and ballot papers with serial numbers would be used for the conduct of The presidential, senatorial, House of Representatives, governorship and Houses of Assembly elections, respectively.
Ezeani urged members of the SICVEP to sensitise the electorate on the voting process so, Nigeria can have successful elections.

Islamic militants celebrate Saudi king's death online
2015-01-23 17:28
Beirut — Islamic militants and their supporters celebrated the death of Saudi King Abdullah on social media Friday, many of them describing him as a "servant" of the Americans who conspired with the West to kill Muslims.
Abdullah, who died at the age of 90, began battling al-Qaida militants around a decade ago when extremists launched a string of attacks in the kingdom aimed at toppling the monarchy. Backed by the kingdom's top ally, the United States, Saudi officials responded with a massive crackdown and has imprisoned suspected militants and sentenced others to death.
"The thief of the two holy mosques has died," wrote a militant supporter on Twitter. "He lived and died as a servant to America," posted another.
Many Islamic extremists consider the Saudi royal family to be corrupt and unfit to rule. The Islamic State group, an al-Qaida breakaway group that currently holds a third of Iraq and Syria, often cites Islam's holiest city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, as one of its targets.
Saudi Arabia is also part of a U.S.-led coalition targeting the Islamic State group in airstrikes.
A jihadi supporter who goes by the name of Abu Azzam al-Najdi criticized the late king saying: "He sent his warplanes to kill Muslims in (Syria). He imprisoned Muslim men and women and wherever there was a war against jihadis, he was the first."
Loyalists of al-Qaida and the Islamic State group alike organized their comments under hashtags, some that translate from Arabic into "Death of a Tyrant."
Another jihadi supporter who goes by the name of Omar wrote in English: "The dog that was occupying (the land of the two holy shrines) has finally kicked the bucket, no Bush or Obama to save you from Allah."
One user posted a photo illustration of King Abdullah wearing an orange uniform as a masked man stood behind him carrying a knife to behead him.
"We don't want him to die. We want to slaughter him this way," the post said, referring to Saudi Arabia's tradition of beheading criminals.

No delay needed for Nigerian election - INEC
Abuja - The head of Nigeria's electoral body on Friday
maintained that elections set for next month will still take place,
despite concerns about whether voter cards will be distributed in time.
Nigeria's national security adviser, Sambo Dasuki, told a conference in London on Thursday that the February 14 poll should be delayed to ensure that registered voters received their cards.
But the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega, said there had been no discussion on postponement.
Asked whether the presidential and parliamentary vote will still take place as planned, he told delegates at a meeting in Abuja: "I have said so.
"I have said everything we are doing, including the challenges of the distribution of Permanent Voters Card, we believe is something we can address long before February 14.
"We issued (the) election timetable for February 14 almost a year ago and we have been very busy working to implement that timetable to the letter."
Security concerns have clouded the run-up to the election, with hundreds of thousands of people forced out of their homes by Boko Haram violence in the northeast and no let-up in the insurgency.
The area is a stronghold of the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), who have said that the overall result could be called into question if the displaced are prevented from voting.
INEC said earlier this month that 68.8 million have registered to vote so far out of the 170 million population.
Dasuki told a conference at the Chatham House international affairs think-tank that he recommended delaying the vote because 30 million cards had not been issued.
He repeated the claim in a BBC World Service radio interview broadcast on Friday, adding: "I don't see how, logically, you can distribute 30 million voters cards in the next two weeks.
"That's asking for too much... There's no rush in doing it in February if the law allows you to do it in April.
"The provision (for holding a general election) is for not more than 90 days and not less than 30 days before the end of the administration...
"We still have some time to play with. I think it's better safe than sorry."
Jega said on Friday that more than 50 million of the 68 million cards had been made available and 4.1 million were received on Thursday.
"That gives us the confidence that before the end of January, all the remaining cards will be available and made available for people to collect," he added.
President Goodluck Jonathan is seeking re-election to a second, four-year term at the election, which is expected to be the tightest since Nigeria returned to civilian rule in 1999.
But momentum is seen as behind the APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari, a former army general who headed Nigeria's military government for 20 months from December 1983.
Buhari has campaigned on a platform of a stronger and more effective approach to tackling Boko Haram and criticism of the government's record on tackling corruption.
Jonathan's ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have mounted a sustained campaign of personal attacks on the 72-year-old, including over his eligibility to stand for high office.

US screwdriver killer gets executed
2015-01-22 11:36
Washington - A death-row inmate in Texas who confessed to murdering three elderly people with a screwdriver for just $100 was executed on Wednesday, US prison authorities said.
Arnold Prieto, 41, was declared dead at 18:31 at the state penitentiary in Huntsville, said Texas department of criminal justice spokesperson Jason Clark.
Prieto's is the fourth US execution this year.
He was sentenced to death for the triple murder committed during a 1993 robbery when he and two brothers were invited to the siblings' great-aunt and great-uncle's house for breakfast, and attacked the elderly couple.
The 72-year-old man and his 62-year-old wife were killed, along with another 92-year-old woman who was in the house.
Prieto and one of the brothers attacked the three with a screwdriver. Under the influence of cocaine, the trio of friends ransacked the house, stealing jewellery and money.
Splitting cash found in a purse, "we each got about $100. I also picked out a gold chain, small, like for a child, with a crucifix pendant," Prieto said in his confession.
Several days later, one of the brothers gave him "a couple of earrings and a couple of necklaces" which he pawned for $140.
In an unusual move, Prieto did not appeal his death sentence to the US Supreme Court.
One accomplice, a minor at the time, was sentenced to life in prison. The second brother was never charged.
