“You Surrounded Yourself With Thieves” – Kenyan Law Professor, Patrick Liuumba Tells Buhari

A Keyan professor of law, Patrick Liuumba has said that President Muhammadu Buhari surrounded himself with many corrupt people.
Describing the corrupt individuals as thieves, the professor said the president is in the fight against corruption all by himself.

Lumumba, a former director of the Kenya Anti-corruption Commission in an interview with Sahara Reporters said, President Buhari’s lack of support from these individuals around him is the reason the war against corruption cannot be successful.

He said: “I wish President Buhari institutionalizes and ensures that his agenda is bought by others. No matter how good your idea is, it must be sold to others and they must buy into it. That is how you institutionalize the idea. You cannot be a lone warrior in this matter because the children of darkness hunt like a pack of wolves and they will devour you if you are alone.”

In his recommendation, Lumumba said the president must as a matter of urgency, recruit a population of Nigerians that believe corruption is wrong.

He also advised that measurable punishment should be institutionalized for those involved in corrupt practices.

Lumumba said: “When I see the former Minister of Petroleum [Diezani Alison-Madueke] being investigated for corruption, without being a sadiist, I become very happy because her wealth is unexplained. She can’t make that money even if she lives a thousand years. What lacks in Africa is punishment, impunity is alive and well in Africa and we, the electorate, are in the business of celebrating thieves.

“Many of these individuals who are in the position of power don’t want to leave because they are thieves and they are scared that if they leave office, they will be prosecuted, and my view is that they should be prosecuted,” he said.

Lumumba further called on the younger Nigerians to wake up and live up to the expectation of cleansing the nation of corruption.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that a former lawmaker, Junaid Muhammed had told the president that he cannot fight corruption in Nigeria.

Muhammed reacting to the row between the minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu and the group managing director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru, said, the president cannot double as the substantive minister of petroleum.

He said with such it remains impossible for the President Buhari’s administration to put an end to corruption in Nigeria.

I Agree With el Rufai That Igbos & Hausas re Not Equal & Shouldn’t be Treated Equally

By: Afam Uche

I think every right thinking human should actually agree with this premise that El Rufai posited because i think it’s the way to go and that is what countries like the US have imbibed and this has made them what they are today.

However, i think El Rufai is either ignorant or drunk with tomfoolery to the point that he may not even understand the implication of his own statement. It is my duty to make some assertions based on the reality on ground and for the benefit of this post, i will be doing so by comparing the North and South.

The Southern part of Nigeria is head and above the north as it relates to Education, so there shouldn’t be any such thing as federal character in the admission of students because only those who are more brilliant should be admitted after we’re not all equal.

Still based on our advantage in education, the south should be heading most government institutions and people with good educational backgrounds should be at the helm not career politicians.
The south provides over 90% of the resources that sustains the country and as such, should actually take bulk of the proceeds of these resources, afteral unequals cannot be equal.

Let’s even assume that the north is more populous and we are aware that it has more land than the south. Does this mean that the resources from another part of the country should be used to massage their overbloated self worth?

The only premise that agrees with the statement is the fact that not all states or regions are equal and as such, every constituent units should be allowed to develop based on the resources at the disposal. The north should focus on farming and areas where it has it’s strengths while the south does the same thing. Only then shall unequals not be equal.

2019: Amaechi calls Wike ‘cry cry governor’ reveals what APC will do if they win or lose election

Former governor of Rivers state now Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has described Governor of the State, Nyesom Wike as “cry cry governor.”

Amaechi said during his administration as Governor, the then President molested and harassed him with soldiers and police, yet he did not complain.

Amaechi insisted that the All Progressives Congress, APC is not ready to rig elections in the state, adding that President Buhari will never allow such.

The Minister said the coming governorship and other elections in the state will be fair and free while accusing Wike of masterminding election mal-practices during the last government of Goodluck Jonathan.

He said this when he met members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Eleme kingdom, Rivers State.
“Fight for your right. I fought for my right (during the Jonathan’s administration) when the President was molesting and harassing me, I got up, mobilized Rivers People and we fought for our right.

“We would not have won Rivers governorship because they rigged everywhere, wrote results and brought army and police to chase us away.

“Now there will be voting. They shouting and crying ‘police o, army o; INEC o just because they are scared of what they did to us (APC).

“President Buhari will not allow that happen. He will not allow any police man to stop anyone from voting.
“That person is there shouting ‘INEC, police’ while he was inside INEC building the day of election and they were writing results and we didn’t complain. Now he is shouting ‘INEC o, police o’ because he is afraid.
“But we’ll follow the law; we shall vote on that day and get our people to vote for us. If we win, we thank God.

“If he wins, we thank God. It will be free and fair. Let him stop crying because its too early. When a man starts crying, it means he is afraid.

“Did I cry about President Goodluck Jonathan? I didn’t cry, I came out to fight for my right. But this man is crying because of ordinary one police CSP every day.

“What do you call him, ‘cry cry governor.’ He is a governor with one agenda, namely ‘Amaechi.’ He sleeps and wakes he dreams of Amaechi. He has no adviser. He sees me in his dreams. You know I’m a Catholic, there are powers they gave to us to fly at night to go and meet them.”

Kachikwu VS Baru: VP Osinbajo admits he approved contracts

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has admitted to approving contracts for the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), a situation that has been generating all forms of controversies between the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu and the NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD), Maikanti Baru.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, in a series of tweets on his twitter handle @akandeoj, on Thursday, confirmed that the contracts were approved after due diligence by the Vice President when he acted as President, recently.

Akande said Osinbajo approved the recommendations for the contracts as part of necessary actions to deal with backlog of unpaid cash calls and incentivise investments.

He also said Osinbajo made the clarification in view of media enquiries that followed NNPC’s claim that the contracts were indeed approved by Osinbajo.

The tweets stated, “In response to media inquiries on NNPC joint venture financing, VP Osinbajo, as Ag President approved recommendations after due diligence & adherence to established procedure. Action necessary to deal with huge backlog of unpaid cash calls which Buhari adm. inherited and also to incentivise much needed fresh investments in the oil & gas sector.”

Kachikwu’s letter to the President in which he alleged gross insubordination by the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) Maikanti Baru, was leaked to the media last week.
He had alleged that Baru awarded $25 billion contracts without following due process.

He had also alleged that the $25 billion contracts were struck without consulting the office of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources or the board of the corporation.

Governor Willie Obiano Disgraced In Popular Onitsha Markets

Governor Obiano has taken his electioneering campaign to popular markets in Onitsha. Report has it that Obiano is currently touring the whole market in Anambra to woo people to vote for him in upcoming Anambra gubernatorial election.

He visited the popular main markets and was seen with heavy security. The security following the self-acclaimed “man of the people” almost surpass the population of the market. Nigerian military forces and police surrounded him like a man who has committed abominable act and consequently running away from anger of his kinsmen. (See Video Below)

The movie that always play out whenever he visits those markets is tragic. In one occasion, he was expecting people to cheer him up but he was disappointed. Market people avoided him like a plaque. It was only just negligible few sycophants were seen calling him “Akpokuedike” which is his title name.
One of the traders said:

“If by now the Governor has not noticed that there won’t be election in Anambra come Nov 18th, then he needs the attention of psychiatric rehab home. If by now Obiano hasn’t seen the handwriting written very bold on the wall, then his case is beyond celestial bodies to judge.”

Another interesting thing happening in Anambra according to eyewitnesses is “lack of confidence in the so-called election. Politicians aren’t campaigning, no posters or billboards to show that something may happen on November. Everywhere is so dull, it’s just few political prostitute that are giving themselves unrealistic hope.”

“From the signs of current atmosphere in Anambra, I doubt if INEC won’t be forced to shift the date of the election, and when it is shifted? IPOB is still winning. There’s no way they do it that won’t be in the favour of Biafrans. If they go on with the date, no one will vote and if they shift it, is over for Nigerian political system. Other ethnic nationalities will start using “no election” to drive home their legitimate demands.” Chinedu Solomon, IPOB member living in Anambra said.

“For some months now, Obiano invaded churches with looted funds to solicit for congregations’ support through the help of clergy. Catholic and Anglican churches are at the forefront of this shameful act. I’m a staunch Catholic member and very sorry to say this; my church has aided politicians to win votes through steady preaching of the clergymen.”

“Anambra people are wise people who have contributed much in this Biafra restoration and we expect that resistance spirit to double this time. Do not allow any clergyman to deceive you, they’ve all collected their share of the spoil from Obiano. What is talking now is money and not men of God. You may go to church and when is time to confuse people about elections, please use your two hands to block your ears.”
“Our destiny is in our hands, it is either we get it right this time or risk perpetual slavery. The governors and senators have nationalised their children in different countries of the world, they don’t care if we all get killed or Islamized.”

“It is our duty as a people to tell these governors to send their children back home to vote for them. Do not eat one week rice or one month tomato and lose the future of your children.”

“We finished school with good grades; First class and most second class upper division but Almajiri with common pass is occupying where we are supposed to work. They occupy every ministry with impunity, they occupy armed forces and aviation. The only hope left for us is Biafra.”

“The moment you don’t vote in any election especially Nov 18th Anambra gubernatorial election, the United Nations will be forced to look into our issue. They won’t have any option than to force Nigerian government to recognise whatever referendum we choose to conduct soonest.”

“For the sake of our first class and 2.1 graduates driving tricycles (Keke Napep), for the sake of our women raped violently in their farmlands by Fulani-herdsmen, for the sake of our manufacturers starved of funds by Hausa-Fulani Nigerian government, for the sake of our promising youths mowed down by Nigerian soldiers, for the sake of recently Abia massacre, for the sake of 3.5million children killed by Gowon cum Harold Wilson of Britain and for the sake of uncountable atrocities committed against Biafrans both Mrs. Bridget Agbahime murdered in Kano whose perpetrators were later set free by Sharia court and for the sake of unborn Biafran children, do not vote in upcoming Anambra Nov 18th gubernatorial election.” Chinedu concluded
