Tears!! Boy Shot Dead As Okorocha Orders Demolition Of Eke-Ukwu Market In Owerri (Graphic Photos)

According to reports coming in from Owerri, Imo state capital, there was a gun battle this morning following the demolition of popular Eke-Ukwu market. The incident reportedly happened following the massive deployment of soldiers around the market since yesterday evening. The elders, youths, women and traders of the Owerri Nchise, who claimed that the market is their ancestral market are stoutly resisting Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha led bulldozers.

A young boy is said to have been shot dead by the demolition squad, according to reports.

It will be recalled that the State Governor, Rochas Okorocha has been in a protracted move to relocate the market from Douglas road to a different location of the city. The governor has presented his case citing the traffic problems constituted by trading activities on the strategic “Douglas road” as one of his reasons.

Owerri indigenes have argued that the market is part of their traditional heritage which should not be tampered with but rather be upgraded with today’s shopping mall facilities.

Three killed as youths, police clash in Owerri market protest

No fewer than three persons have been reportedly killed as traders and youths of Ekeukwu market in Owerri, the Imo State capital clashed with security operatives over directives given by the state government on the relocation of the market.

The incident occurred this morning when the state government moved in to start the demolition of the market which is to be effected by security operatives. The clash became heavy as gunshots were heard by residents in the neighborhood.
The situation escalated when one of the protesters, a young man, was hit and killed by a stray bullet fired by security operatives deployed to maintain order in the melee which ensued after the demolition.

But the State Commissioner of Police has interfered in the matter to restore peace.

The market relocation has been a major issue between the Imo state government and traders of the market as well as some indigenes of Owerri who see the location of the market as their ancestral home.

The traders rejected the move and have taken the state government to court over the issue.

Yesterday, the Imo state Governor issued a press statement signed by the Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, Kingsley Uju, stating that traders in the market should move out within 48 hours after the release of the statement.

Biafra : I am Ready For Re-arrest – Nnamdi Kanu Tells Buhari

Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has replied President Muhammed Buhari over the call for his re-arrest.

In a statement reacting to the President. Kanu said he is not afraid of arrest and will continue to protect the Biafran people from the dictatorial tendencies of the Buhari administration.

His words: “The directive to service chiefs to clamp down on IPOB is a continuation of the Buhari’s dictatorial and un- democratic approach to gover- nance. I find it unacceptable, abhorrent, and insulting that somebody elected by the peo- ple can turn around to dictate to them.

“Buhari was elected to gov- ern Nigeria, he should get on with the business of gover- nance and not try to instigate another war.”

Kanu also insisted on the boycott of November 18 Anambra governorship election, stressing that “only the beneficiaries of the crumbs from Aso Rock will support those calling on me to rescind the boycott order.

“The call for boycott of the election is our legitimate right. IPOB has only one weapon with which to fight Nigeria, and that is civil disobedience not armed conflict. If we decide not to vote in Anambra, it is our prerogative. It is not targeted at Governor Willie Obiano or anybody.”

He stressed that IPOB would not be forced to take up arms no matter the provocation. “We have refused to be provoked to arms rebellion. That is what Buhari is looking for. Buhari wants a war but we won’t oblige him because we are civilised people. We are democrats at heart by nature and by essence,” he said, adding that no amount of threat or intimidation would make him give up the struggle for Biafra autonomy because it is a genuine cause.

“We are not armed and we can never be armed. IPOB has done a lot to free other ethnic nationalities from the Caliphate’s bondage of retrogression and economic emasculation. Other ethnic na- tionalities should be grateful to IPOB for giving them the cour- age and the heart to speak up and say they are not slaves.

BREAKING!!! Biafrexit: Ojukwu Jnr Blasts Buhari, “You Lied, My Father Never Visited You”

Odumegwu Ojukwu’s first son, Emeka Ojukwu Jnr said president Muhammadu Buhari lied against his late father when he said Ojukwu visited him in Daura, and they both agreed that Nigeria must be united.

Ojukwu Jnr said it is a lie from the pit of hell because Ojukwu never made mention of such visit or agreement to any member of the family, he warned Buhari to leave the name of his father out of whatever he is doing.

This was contained in an email sent to Blue News by Emeka Ojukwu Jnr, Tuesday morning as a reply to our inquiry on the issue.

Ojukwu: Buhari’s broadcast a compendium of lies , we challenge him on evidence – Zionists

Leader of the Biafra Zionists’ Federation, Barr. Benjamin Onwuka, on Tuesday described President Muhammadu Buhari’s nationwide broadcast as “a compendium of lies.”

Onwuka, who spoke to journalists in Enugu, said the President’s statement that late Biafra leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu disowned Biafra was false.

DAILY POST reports that Onwuka, who had few weeks back declared himself the President of Biafra, challenged Buhari to provide an audio and transcript evidence of the said meeting between him (Buhari) and Ojukwu.

Recall that Buhari, in a nationwide broadcast, marking his return to the country said he sat with the former warlord in 2003 and they both agreed that the unity of Nigeria was not negotiable.

But Onwuka, while disputing the statement, said, “We are speaking today in response to the broadcast said to have been made by Buhari. We want to let the world know that Buhari is wasting his time; he has been defeated.

“He didn’t start failing today; he supported Hillary Clinton during the US election, but they all failed; he knows it.

“So, his broadcast is a waste of time; a compendium of lies; Biafrans challenge him, let him produce the transcript; we saw what they posted on his twitter handle and called it a video. This is very comedic. When has a picture become a video. Where is the voice, where is the motion; where is the transcript? What he has dished out is a far-cry; we are asking for a video evidence, with the audio, the transcript of that meeting. Let us see what they agreed on.

“Above all, I don’t believe what he is saying; if that is what happened, let him come up with evidence. Odumegwu Ojukwu, I believe will never compromise on Biafra’s independence. He was the one that led us to war, except that he made mistake of not accepting offer from Russia. That’s what the Zionists have done by seeking support from US.

“The broadcast he made, Ojukwu could never have compromised; let his provide the evidence and what Ojukwu said. Even if it is what Ojukwu said, Ojukwu is not speaking for Biafra; Biafrans are a nation; a nation is more important than one person.

“So, Ojukwu can never betray Biafra. Why didn’t he say this when Ojukwu was alive? He should have told us then. When that meeting held, he should have given us an opportunity, where two of them would have come out and told us, we believe in one Nigeria.

“Why now, because the man has died, you are now coming up with allegations against him, because the grave cannot speak? So, whatever he said Ojukwu told him, we don’t buy into it.
“Biafra has come to stay with the backing of US. Our matter is right now at the desk of the US President. So, Buhari is wasting his time.

“He is even calling us irresponsible because he is benefiting form our oil. Where in the world are people agitating for freedom called irresponsible people?

“What will he call Boko Haram members? The only reason is that he he is feeding from our oil, allocating oil blocks and all that. Without the oil, there will be no Nigeria. He can say whatever he likes.”

On Buhari’s stance on Biafra agitators, Onwuka added: “We also want to let him know that since he said unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable, the restoration of Biafra is also non-negotiable.”

When asked to comment on an interim government he claimed to have formed few weeks back, he said, “I’m not claiming to be president on my own; United States under Obama recognized Biafra on 15th Ocober, 2014. The zionists believe in international diplomacy.

“Let me assure those people appointed that the interim government stands until we hear from the White House. So, the interim government and our announcement on Biafra, they are still intact; we are waiting to get reply from US but the government we formed is intact, upon the return of Trump from vacation, Biafra will take off. Obama and Trump will make Biafra to be a reality.

“My cabinet members have reacted, some negative, but I know they will come around; the interim government is alive but we cannot activate it until we get a signal from the White House. But I know that all those saying no now, they will later come around.

“Those we appointed from the Middle belt are part of us; the Middle belt belongs to us, including Southern Kaduna. We are going to give Southern Kaduna a State and that State shall be called Gurara State.

“We shall also restore peace between Cross River and Ebonyi. The boundary dispute is a result of weak government. They don’t care that we are killing ourselves so long as they are taking our oil. But Biafra will not allow any form of boundary crisis, that we can assure our people; there will be absolute peace.”

PDP Reacts To Buhari’s speech, What They Said Will Shock You

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said President Muhammadu Buhari refused to address issues pertinent to Nigerians in his National address.

In a statement signed by by the Head of Administration of the party, Chinwe Nnorom, the party said the speech was aimed at intimidating Nigerians.

It said, “When last Friday the Presidency issued a statement intimating the people of the imminent return of President Buhari to the country after his more than three-month medical vacation in London with, not a few Nigerians heaved a sigh of relief, thanking God for delivering our President and expectantly looked forward to a robust speech that would boost the confidence of the people in the capacity of the government to continue to take on the huge challenges of governance.

“However, rather than rekindle that hope and confidence, that speech can most charitably be described as a monumental anticlimax.

“The President and his handlers missed a golden opportunity to reconnect with the people through addressing issues that have direct bearing on their well-being and those of their children and dependents.

“Indeed, the President’s speech did not contain anything new. The PDP had had cause to commend the then Acting President for going round the country to engage with relevant stakeholders, which certainly was a better approach.”

The Statement added that Nigerians would have loved to know strategies being put in place to tackle agitations and insurgency.

The statement added, “The casual mention of ‘elements of Boko Haram, kidnappings, farmers versus herdsmen clashes, among others, was also somewhat on the perfunctory side and does not imbue confidence.

“President Buhari returned to the country in a week that saw the closure of all our public universities as a result of the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

“Yet, not even a whimper from our President. Has the future of the future leaders of our country sunk so low in the estimation of our current leaders that the issue was considered not important enough to command a mention in the President’s address?
